Bagalur lies on the Bellary Road (NH44)/Airport Road corridor roughly 6.7 km from Kempegowda International Airport, with Yelahanka about 9.7 km away and Devanahalli around 11.4 km away. The Hennur-Bagalur Road, a 5.5 km stretch between Hennur Cross and Bagalur Cross taken up under the Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-SMILE) initiative since September 2025, is being concretized to ease congestion, though only around 60% of the work was complete as of mid-2026.

An earlier Bagalur Road link connected Yelahanka and Hoskote.

Bagalur is emerging as an education node on Airport Road, highlighted by Kristu Jayanti University's new 14-acre campus at Chagalatti, Bagalur, dedicated to management and technology programmes (MBA, MCA, MSc data science/cyber security, BBA).

Inaugurated in 2026, the campus is designed for about 4,500 students and 200+ faculty, with academic blocks, laboratories, incubation facilities, a library, sports facilities and sustainability features like rainwater harvesting and solar panels.

The locality hosts the KIADB (Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board) Hardware Park in Bagalur, part of north Bengaluru's electronics/hardware manufacturing base near the airport.

Its location along the Bellary Road/Airport Road corridor also places Bagalur within reach of the wider Devanahalli aerospace, IT and industrial cluster that has been drawing major investment to north Bengaluru in recent years.

Bagalur is primarily residential and industrial with no major tourist sites of its own, but it lies close to Devanahalli (~11.4 km), home to the ASI-protected Devanahalli Fort, a 16th-century granite fortification and birthplace of Tipu Sultan, with the historic Venugopala Swamy Temple inside.

The Kempegowda International Airport area nearby has also seen rising tourist and business traveller footfall.

As a still-developing locality, Bagalur has limited standalone entertainment or retail infrastructure of its own.

Residents currently rely on established options in neighbouring Yelahanka (~9.7 km), which has malls such as Yelahanka Central and Galleria Mall plus major retail brands, with further options emerging around the Devanahalli/airport corridor as the area urbanizes.

Civic infrastructure in Bagalur is in active transition: the Hennur-Bagalur Road concretization project (started September 2025 under B-SMILE) targets a 5.5 km stretch, though residents reported in mid-2026 that only around 60% of work was done, with unfinished drains, uneven surfaces and safety hazards.

Newer developments such as Kristu Jayanti University's campus incorporate rainwater harvesting, a sewage treatment plant and solar panels, reflecting improving standards entering the area.
