Majiwada sits at the meeting point of Ghodbunder Road, the Eastern Express Highway and the old Mumbai-Nashik highway (NH-48), making it Thane's busiest traffic junction and a gateway to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Nashik and Gujarat. Thane railway station is a short drive away, and frequent buses connect the area.

The under-construction Thane Metro Line 4 and Line 5 will interchange nearby at Kapurbawdi, adding rail transit once complete.

Majiwada has a mix of Marathi- and English-medium schools nearby, including Lodha World School, English High School and Ganesh Vidyalaya. Greater Thane hosts well-regarded institutions such as D.A.V.

Majiwada itself is chiefly residential-commercial rather than an industrial hub, but it borders Thane's established employment belts of Wagle Estate, Kolshet and Vartak Nagar along the Ghodbunder Road business-park corridor.

Majiwada has few standalone tourist sites of its own but benefits from proximity to Thane's attractions: Upvan Lake, one of the city's noted lakes, lies a few kilometres away, and Sanjay Gandhi National Park is also within reach.

The Gadkari Rangayatan cultural auditorium, cited by residents, hosts plays and events, giving the locality easy access to Thane's recreational and cultural landmarks.

Viviana Mall, one of the region's largest malls with multiplexes, dining and retail, sits about 2 km from Majiwada on the Eastern Express Highway, alongside other complexes like The Shopping Point and High Street Mall.

Within Majiwada Gaon itself, residents point to multiple restaurants, grocery and fish markets, and neighbourhood temples and a church as everyday social hubs.

Thane Traffic Police and TMC have upgraded signals and redesigned the Majiwada and Kapurbawdi junctions to ease congestion, and a Rs 1,182-crore widening of the old Mumbai-Nashik highway between Vadpe and Majiwada is underway.

A proposed Rs 1,847-crore elevated corridor from Anand Nagar to Teen Hath Naka aims to further decongest the area, though residents and courts continue to flag waterlogging and poor road maintenance.
