Thaltej has its own elevated station on the Blue Line (East-West corridor) of Ahmedabad Metro, opened 30 September 2022 and extended a further 1.4 km to Thaltej Gam on 8 December 2024. The locality sits directly on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (SG) Highway and Sardar Patel Ring Road, Ahmedabad's two principal arterial roads.

Ambli Road railway station is about 0.7 km away for suburban rail, while Ahmedabad Junction (Kalupur) and the international airport are a further drive across the city.

Thaltej is not an industrial locality; its commercial character runs to local shops, offices and business complexes rather than manufacturing, with proximity to Ahmedabad's financial hub improving job access for residents.

Thaltej metro station itself adjoins Mondeal Business Park, an established corporate office park on SG Highway.

Thaltej itself is residential rather than a tourism draw, but it sits within a few kilometres of some Ahmedabad attractions - Gujarat Science City (about 3 km), Vastrapur Lake (about 3-4 km) and the ISKCON (Sri Sri Radha Govind Dham) temple on SG Highway.

Acropolis Mall, which includes a PVR multiplex, is located right by Thaltej metro station.

The locality's own restaurant scene includes several multi-cuisine and Gujarati eateries and cafes, and it has multiple public parks such as Thaltej Park, Symphony Forest Park and Vaman Public Park.

Thaltej has strong ring-road and highway infrastructure, while internal road upkeep, parking constraints and waste disposal remain areas needing improvement.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has separately earmarked funds toward redeveloping Thaltej Lake as part of a wider 2026 civic infrastructure push covering several city lakes.
