Kondhwa (split into Kondhwa Budruk and Kondhwa Khurd) is served by NIBM Road, Salunke Vihar Road, Katraj-Kondhwa Road and NH-65 (Pune-Solapur-Hyderabad highway). Pune Junction is the nearest railway station and Pune International Airport is about 13.9 km away via Airport Road.

PMPML buses, autorickshaws and app-cabs are widely available, with Katraj Bus Stand, Market Yard Bus Depot and Swargate bus stand nearby. No metro line currently reaches central Kondhwa; a Shivajinagar-Kondhwa-Yewalewadi corridor is in the planning stage, and the congested Katraj-Kondhwa Road is being widened in phases.

Kondhwa hosts the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), an autonomous RBI-established institute for banking research, training and its PGDM programme, after which NIBM Road is named. Kondhwa is mainly residential with local commercial space such as Konark Business Hub in Kausar Baugh, but sits within easy commuting range of Pune's major employment centres.

Magarpatta City, Phursungi IT Park and Amanora Park Town are roughly 9-10 km away; SP Infocity is about 8-10 km away; and the World Trade Centre, Cerebrum IT Park and EON IT Park in the Kharadi/Yerwada belt are around 13-15 km away, making Kondhwa a residential base for IT/ITES and finance-sector commuters.

Kondhwa itself is a residential and commercial suburb rather than a tourist destination. It borders Katraj, which hosts Pune's Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park (incorporating the historic Katraj Snake Park and Katraj Lake) and a prominent Shvetambara Jain temple, both reachable within a short drive.

Wider Pune's heritage and cantonment-area attractions lie further along the city's arterial road network.

Larger malls such as Dorabjee's, Hypercity, Nucleus, Kumar Pacific and Seasons Mall, plus outlets of national retail and F&B brands, lie within the broader South and Central Pune belt accessible from the locality.

Civic services in Kondhwa fall under the Pune Municipal Corporation's dedicated Kondhwa-Yewalewadi ward office, which handles sanitation, roads and building approvals. PMC's recent budgets have earmarked funds for arterial roads and merged-village infrastructure, and the long-pending Katraj-Kondhwa Road widening is progressing in phases with state and civic funding.

Power supply is generally stable; some residents report intermittent water supply and sewage-network gaps in parts of the area.
